Picture and post unrelated

Okay everyone who lives around me in the immediate Hampt*on Roads area.... There will be no immediate hurricane threats to us this year. Why do you say???? Because I just bought four 4 packs of D cell batteries to have on hand this season just in case. Everyone who lives in hurricane country knows these are very hard to find any time a storm approaches. Each year I say I will do it and each year I end up scrambling. I think we had one scare last year and I had to buy and expensive lantern that actually came with the batteries already in it. So this year I am prepared. I'm just saying :)

And now for the unrelated picture....

This picture was taken last weekend at the living museum last Sunday. Of course it's a fake snake. I thought she would be afraid of it but after a minutes hesitation she plopped right down with my encouragement.

Band aid mania

Abby loves band aids. She always has. She liked to stick them on her PJs when she first got home. Problem is band aids are like glue on clothing anyway. Impossible to get off. To this day I have to watch her close to make sure that she doesn't ruin any of her clothing. So anyways a half a box of band aids keeps her occupied for quite a while. So I keep several boxes on hand and when I need to do something without her help all I have to do is break out the band aids. Now all of a sudden they seem to be popping up every where.

The kitchen window,

sippy cup

Living room wall

Sliding door

Obviously this is her place of choice to place them. I will be taking this off in the near future so lately I have let her go to town. (Yikes now everyone knows I need to dust)

Yep she likes her band aids :)

A little messy after just being picked up from daycare.

How I do love this little girl!!!!

Beach Weather

Feels like summer around here as we have already had some scorchers. Little one still hasn't been to a real beach yet but I did take her to our local Yorktown beach. Actually it's more like a river but only about 20 minutes from our house verses 45 minutes for the real thing all la Virginia beach. I didn't get many pictures cuz it's kind of hard when there are only the two of you there. She liked it though. The seaweed freaked her out a little but as long as I moved it out of her way she was good. Once she was brave enough to get in the water I couldn't get her out so I only have a few pictures to post. (Really not very good ones either) When I look at them I realise just how small she still really is. Lately she has seemed so big too me with all her talking and yes her attitude at times :)

More FCC Playgroup fun

The latest FCC play date was last weekend. We met up at the Norf*lK Botanical G*rden. What a cool place! I can't believe I have lived here 29 plus years and have never been there. It was beautiful. The first thing we saw was the Eagle family. Actually just the nest and either the Mom or DAD standing guard. My little camera didn't get to close of a shot. People were actually camped out there with their fancy equipment waiting to catch a shot.

Look closely. They are in the middle tree. The nest is in the fork and Mom or Dad is too the left sitting on a limb. You can also see them here live.

Then onward we went to meet the group. This is the kiddie area. Very cool. Lots of little fountains that shoot out from the ground at various heights and change periodically.

This shot was at the end of the day when hardly any one was left.

We got there late so everyone was already playing. Abby was shy and a little intimidated at first.

It didn't take her long though and she was right in there :)

Stomping on the water :)

I love this picture below. In her face I can see the baby that I first saw in China.

Buddy Ava was there. That child is wild. She had a blast!

Hanging with Kelsey and Rachel.

Climbing the mountain as she called this hill :)

Elizabeth was there and we finally got to meet Fin!

These last two shots I totally swiped from Fin's Mama :)

I love this last shot of the three girls running down the mountain.

Good times :) Thanks Karen for setting the fun play dates up! Let us know when there are more :) Abby and I stayed extra after everyone else left being that we got there late and being that Abby just wasn't ready to leave yet. We did some more walking around but we still didn't see it all. I used this time for a photo shoot. Below my little butterfly :)

Flapping her wings :)

Abba and Mama!

More Abba and Mama!

I played around with the effects and edited this one.

What a pose!

A little dark :(

She was surprisingly cooperative :0

More editing effects.

Starting to get a little over being a fashion model.

I just love her.

Have goldfish will travel!

Your not going to start taking pictures again are you????

Maybe if I don't look she will stop??

Good grief! Enough all ready!

Taking time to smell the roses :)

Oops! Her eyes were closed :)

More editing affects.

Then it got pretty hot. Notice only one of us still looks good at that point and it wasn't me. We had a great time and we are now members!
