Every time I have gone somewhere that involved a lot of walking my feet have paid the price. Two times in particular will always remain fresh in my memory. The first time was on my first trip to New York City. It was summer and I wore aerasoles (sp?) slides/mules. I figured they would be soft and comfy (they always had been). Not so much. As I'm sure you know we walked a lot all weekend. By the second day I had terrible blisters. My blisters formed in a terrible place. The soles of my feet. It was awful, the pain I will never forget! I basically had to window in all my blisters with moleskin and wear tennis shoes the rest of the weekend. Not fun.
The second time it happened was in New Orleans. I think I was stupid enough to wear the same shoes. It was spring this time. I went for a nursing conference. I didn't think there would be a lot of walking involved. Boy was I wrong. First I had never been to New Orleans and had no idea it was going to be so much fun. The first day we got there we walked every where (including) Burbon street. You guessed it ! That night the same thing. Blisters on the soles of my feet. Agony the next day and another trip to the drug store for moleskin. You would think I would of learned. The conference was at the convention center (pre Katrina) and that place was huge. My feet were literally burning.
So, (on this so exciting post) the next time I went to New York City I was ready. We went during the Christmas holiday and I wore a pair of Ugg boots. They were so comfortable and I did not get one blister and we walked every where! I know my China trip will involve tons of walking. Plus I will be carrying Abby for a large part of the trip. I need some comfy footwear. Blisters would ruin things in a big way. So tonight I found my dream pair of Ugg boots in Chocolate and I ordered them. I got them at zappos.com. A great deal!
I still believe everything happens for a reason. I'm pretty sure I will be traveling in either the Fall or Winter Months so the boots will be perfect :) But I am still definitely adding moleskin to my packing list.

As a nurse you know about good shoes..I can not find comfy shoes for anywhere! i love your boots!
I've got similar issues with my feet when I travel in warm weather. My feet were miserable in Madrid last week. The only thing that works for me then are my Ginger flip flops by Reef - however mine were in my luggage which was missing. :(
I love your boots. The color is gorgeous. Zappos is one of my favorite shopping adventures!
Funny thing, I wore aerosoles on one of our DC trips and the same thing happened to me, only my blisters were deep under my skin. I finally stopped at the first shoe store I passed and tried on everything that looked like it might work. I didn't care how ugly they looked. I forgot about how comfortable my uggs are. They definitely go on the packing list!! Do they make them for men? xo Mom
Very cute!
Nice boots! Make sure you break them in before the trip... Blisters in China would be terrible! Good girl, thinking ahead!
Girl I hear you on blisters in NY- and I almost went to an oncology nursing conference in New Orleans!
Couldn't go though.
Glad you found some boots that will work (suddenly I have that dang song stuck in my head though...)
Great boots! I am going take last years Doc Martins and add gel insoles to them. They are already comfy but I figure the gel wouldn't hurt.
Gotta have comfy tootsies while carrying Abby about!
Cute !
I may have to get them for our Wisconsin weather.
Cute boots! You have GOT to travel this winter and I sure do hope it is before the end of the year!!!!
Those are UGG-ilicious. Drool...
Keep smilin!
Ready to ride the rumor rollercoaster Jenny? Read your RQ and hold on tight, ok? =)
Sounds comfy, I just went out and bought a pair of crocs.....wouldn't recommend speed walking in em.
Girl, just don't wear flip flops of ANY kind in NYC!!! Sounds like you have it covered with the Uggs! I wish I didn't have huge cankles - those Uggs don't fit over my calves!
I wish I could wear boots like that but in Houston we live in flip flops all year long! The nurses that I know wish they could wear flip flops at work but they stick with the crocks or slip on tennis shoes. Soooooo jealous over your new boots!
did you see on RQ this morning that part of December could be included in next months referrals. It is only an R1.....but one never knows! Maybe you will see Abby before the snow even flies!
these are soo cute!! What is moleskin? I've never heard of that before...
Rumors are flying early this month. Do they sell air-sick bags at that zappo's? HA HA HA
Yep you did the right thing something comfortable to wear and they look pretty good too!
I say you should try Crocs....you won't be sorry! ;0)
