I'm looking for Christmas present ideas for Abby. She will be two by then. Any suggestions on what your recently turned two year old loved to play with then?
OH MY... I can't believe that Christmas is right around the corner... I haven't had a two year old in 13 years... amazing how they grow up... Can't wait to see all her goodies... Have a Great Weekend..
Hmmm, there is so much that Briana likes! I just got her a Doodlepro and she loves it. Crayons, coloring books, stickers are always good. Bri loves the big wooden puzzles by Melissa and Doug. Also, my friend Kathy got Bri a small tent from Ikea that she absolutely loves!
Isn't it so fun?!!! Last year, Eliza was 22 months. Here is the post I did on her Christmas gifts http://eliza2006.blogspot.com/2007/12/merry-christmas.html (half of the links don't work anymore). She liked them at the time, but we have so many toys, they eventually just got added to the pile! I ended up getting Eliza the keyboard I posted about last week or so. I have a friend that said that had been a favorite from 2-10 for her kids. Make sure you let us know what Santa is bringing your girl!
I bought the soon to be seen Tate Playskool Busy Ball Popper. It has been taken out of the box and enjoyed by the visiting kids from toddler to eight year olds!
Oh my gosh, it's getting close to a year since you got Abby in your arms, isn't it? (I remember it as being right around the time that I was in Denmark last year.) It's crazy how fast time flies, huh??
I was going to say the Playskool ball popper too. My kids love playing with this. Their ages range from 2 - 7. Actually if I have to admit this....I think it's pretty fun too! :)
A little baby stroller. Target has them for about 7 or 8 bucks. She loved it. pushed around dolls, stuffed toys, anything she could find. she even sat in it herself.
my friends kids loved theirs, too, so it seems to be an all around favorite.
There are probably lots of things that Abby will just LOVE...but if I can offer my advice...get all of the toys out of their boxes and various restraints before Christmas, and then put them, fully ready to be played with, inside boxes and wrap them (gift bags work great too, of course). Ask grandparents to do the same. That way, Abby can just open the boxes and bags and have all kinds of fun, without waiting for Mom to figure out how to free the toy and get it ready. We did that with Chloe, and Christmas morning was just fantastic...very relaxing, and I could reach for the camera immediately. We're doing that again this year, too! (She's 2 1/2 now.) I know you'll have such a wonderful Christmas!
We didn't overdue it for Mia's 2nd Christmas. There are a couple of presents that she still plays with. Wooden puzzles from Lakeside.com. We also got a small kitchen set from Wal-mart $40. It has held up to Mia and her cousins cooking everything. Check out lakeside.com. They have some really reasonable things for kids.
a tea set (Fisher Price makes a cute musical plastic one) a baby doll stroller (& crib/highchair) wooden puzzles books, books, books, books! (absolute favs with my two girls are Bear Snores On, Bear Wants More, and Fancy Nancy
PS love Kelley's advice about removing items from their cages within the boxes -- great idea, Kelley!
FP My First Doll House Baby doll and stroller Musical Instruments crayons/paper play doh Leap Frop Fridge Phonics Books, books, books
Have fun. Don't go crazy (I know, I tell myself that too every year). They really do get overwhelmed opening alot of the gifts. The one thing I do do, is to get all of those ties undone that they have the toy packed in the box, then I put it back in the box and wrap it. This way, I don't spend all morning trying to get the toys out of the package. HATE THAT.
I need to know this as well as Zoe is two at Christmas. During the wait I purchased an Asian doll. I think I will give he this for Christmas with a little stroller and she adores books...so more books!
Ava (2.5) loves her play kitchen and all the play food. I gave it to her for her 2nd birthday and she's liked it from the start. We can't walk into her bedroom without having to stop for a tea party. ;)
She also does have the ball hopper mentioned in other posts and loves that as well (although we currently have a plastic orange stuck inside).

Kid-Riffic Jump Smart. About $60 at Target. She'll love jumping on it.
