Love this!

Ok, I love this:

I am her parent, she is my child

I am her quiet place, she is my wild

I am her calm face, she is my giggle

I am her wait, she is my wiggle

... I am her audience, she is my clown

I am her London Bridge, she is my falling down

I am her Carrot Sticks, she is my licorice

I am her dandelion, she is my first wish

I am her water wings, she is my deep

I am her open arms, she is my running leap

I am her way home, she is my new path

I am her dry towel, she is my wet bath

I am her dinner, she is my chocolate cake

I am her bedtime, she is my wide awake

I am her finish line, she is my race

I am her helping hands, she is my saving grace

I am her favorite book, she is my new lines

I am her nightlight, she is my sunshine

I am her lullaby, she is my peek-a-boo

I am her kiss goodnight, she is my I love you

Fairy Garden

Mommy learned about this Fairy Garden Contest on this cool blog The Magic Onions.

I just knew we had to make one. My girl is all about fairies :) It has been a work in progress an the pictures are out of order. Blogger seems to have changed while Mommy was away. Below the finished product!

We even added a little light so the fairies could continue to have fun after dark :)

We love the little cubby. The moss layer makes it a soft perfect place for a fairy or two to take a nap :)

We made sure to include a magic pond so the fairies could take a little dip :)

Or if they want the fairies can have a seat at the toadstool table and catch up on their fairy gossip.

Abby watching for fairies :) They are fast you know!

And below is how it all began. We started with the green container but quickly realised it would be too small. We borrowed the moss from the woods behind our house.

Making our Fairy hideaway :)

Bubble intermission :)

Pretty blue rocks for the magic pond.

Filling the pond and misting the  moss :)

Abby made the little sign. It said Welcome Fairies. Unfortunately it did not hold up to well so we later switched to a shell As seen above).

Done for now and time for a Fairy Road Test :)

Think they like it!

Abby and I had a lot of fun making our Fairy Garden. It remains a work in progress as we continue to find things to add to it :)  Go check out all of the other cool Fairy Gardens over at The Magic Onions Blog.

Easter 2012

Abby and Mommy had a wonderful Easter. We headed off to a friends church for an Easter egg hunt. In church before the hunt listening to the Easter story. The kids took turns opening eggs that each held something symbolic and part of the story.

Abby found a ton of eggs and candy. We went back to that church the next day for Sunday service :)

Abby and Mackenzie. BFF's since they were babies:)

After the egg hunt they decorated Easter cookies. I love how kid oriented this church is :0

Abby and her cookie.

Abby's Easter basket. Mommy was too lazy to take Easter morning pictures :(

After church we met up with the rest of our family for lunch. Nope! No pictures of that either :(

Easter pictures we took on the way home.

Happy Gotcha Day (retro from 1/6/12)

Unbelievable! Really? Our fourth Gotcha day anniversary :) Where does the time go? This sweet and wonderful treasure that I am lucky enough to have as a daughter. Such a scared little person that had been through so much. Oh how I wish they could see her now :)

This picture sums up my Abba pretty well! She is strong, joyful, spirited, determined, compassionate, opinionated, kind, graceful, smart, beautiful, loving, stubborn, energetic, amazing, spicy, musical, fun and most of all LOVED!

Opening her gotcha day gift from Mommy.

A Chinese Yo Yo.

She knew just what to do with it :)

And also a porcelain bracelet Mommy bought in Jiangxi.

Life is good :)

Snow

After such a snowy winter last year Abby and Mommy too have been a little disappointed this time around. So far just 2 times have we seen snow and both times just a dusting. The first time it started around 5 PM. Big flakes that looked pretty promising.

Abby was excited

Check out the big fluffy flakes.

They were covering pretty fast.

Abby with her magnifying glass checking out the snowflakes.

Checking out the snow in her hair. Funny the camera did not pick it up.

The next morning we found our dusting. Winds were whipping with a windchill of about 10 degrees. Abby insisted on going out.

Wearing the new snowpant I got her this year. Yep probably totally why it hasn't snowed a lot this winter.

I think the Chinese clothing police would have approved.

And out she went to make the most of what little snow we had. :)

She had fun while Mommy watched from the window and took pictures.

Getting her magnifying glass ready.

Love my girl and still hoping we get at least one good snowstorm before winter ends :)
