Where are my documents?

My documents are no longer in my possession. They are on their way to Richmond for authentication by the Secretary of State. Next step D.C. where they will be authenticated by the D.C. Secretary of State and finally by the Chinese embassy. It feels very strange to have my documents out of my hands. I have been guarding them for so long. People I am almost DONE!!!

Meema's chinese dress

My niece Erin stayed home from school today because she has been sick. She stayed at Meema's because Mommy and Daddy had to work today. Meema brought out a old Chinese dress that was hers when she was a child. This dress had been made for her by a old Chinese friend of Meema's Grandmother (My Great Grandmother Robinson). Meema says this dress is at least 50 years old. We put it on Erin today and it fit perfectly making her look so pretty and grown up at 8 years old. Erin is very excited about her new cousin Abby. She talks about her all the time and has been saving some of her things especially for her. I Love You Sissy! I know you are going to be a great cousin!!!

My Red Thread Bracelet

I need some good luck. The adoption paperchase can be very frustrating at times. I am waiting for my Adoption agency to review and approve my homestudy. I sent it to them last week and of course the person in charge of reviewing it was on vacation untill yesterday. So today I e-mail my cordinator to find out if this person has my homestudy because I will meet with my social worker tomorrow morning for the last time. She replies that she has it and that it will be reviewed SOON??? I don't understand. Seems like all she would have to do is read it. They know this is the last thing that I need and then I will be done with my paperwork. AAAAAAAGGG! I have already had to redo all my documents and physical to be sure that they won't expire as a result of this delay. So anyway-I have a red thread bracelet that I purchased at the begining of my paperchase. It broke a while back and I have been meaning to fix it. Tonight I did so hopefully the tangles in my "Red Thread" to Abby will straighten out. Untill then I will take a deep breath and remind myself that I will get the baby that was meant for me.....

Panda Cub gets a Name!

Finally at 14 weeks of age the little cub gets a name. The cubs new name is TAI SHAN meaning "peaceful mountain". 202,000 people voted for the babies name. Votes were received not just from the United States, but also from China, Poland, Brazil and New Zealand. The Smithsonian National Zoo website also reports the cub made his first attempts at play yesterday by playfully swatting at Mom repeatedly.

The Brown Envelope

Dear Littlefield, Jennifer Lee:

The BCIS (INS) recently notified the American Consulant in Guangzhou that you have been approved to adopt an orphan overseas. This means that we are authorized to process your childs case as soon as his or her adoption is finalized. when corresponding with this office, please refer to the case number (beginning with the letters GUZ) listed at the end of this letter. We look foreward to seeing you here soon for your child's immigrant visa interview.

This is another sign of progress. China is acknowledging my plans to adopt a child from them and has a place reserved for me once a child is reffered to me!

Finally some PROGRESS!!!

I feel like I am reaching the home stretch. I met my social worker today for the first of 3 face to face visits. (My agency requires a minimum of 4 face to face visits and we had only had 1 in addition to numerous telephone interviews which my social worker thought was acceptable.) We discussed the changes that need to be added to my homestudy. Now she will retype it and we will meet Monday to review it. Then I will send it to my agency to review and okay. We then meet a final time to discuss any other revisions or changes to be made, Then she types a final draft which will be sent to my agency. Hopefully then I will be officially done with my paper work and can finally get it authenticated. Then I mail it all to my agency and I am done!! Then the waiting begins....

More Clothes and Cassie gets a Warm up

Today Dawn came over with daughters Taylor and Zoe. Zoe gave me a refresher course on the importance of toddler proofing! Taylor brought me some Halloween cookies and Dawn brought me all of Taylor and Zoe's clothes that they have grown out of. They are so cute and VERY much appreciated!! Thank you Dawn!!!

While they were over, Zoe found Cassie under my bed. We then found Zoe underneath my bed with Cassie pinned against the wall. Zoe was very gentle and Cassie was good as gold but clearly not as happy to see Zoe as Zoe was to see her. Poor thing! If she only knew what she is in for.
