Hello, It's Abby :)

I did a big Mommy NoNO today. Abby had no interest in her afternoon nap so I put her in my bed again and laid down with her. I finally had to close my eyes and pretend I was asleep to get her to go down but she was so cute before that! She kept leaning down and giving me big kisses saying Ma over and over again. I think it was around 3 or 330PM when she finally went down. Next thing I knew it was 630 pm! We were both tired cuz she was up a lot again last night. I thought tonights bedtime would be impacted but she went down around 930 PM only 30 min later then normal. I also added some rice cereal to her bottle tonight. She is in her crib right now out like a light. Think happy sleeping thoughts for us tonight :)

I don't think there is "right and wrong" with raising adopted children. Of course, I can't speak from experience (yet!). I've read a few books, they all seem to promote co-sleeping... and for someone who LOVES her bed to herself... I'm not sure I'm ready for that! Do what's right for you.

Habits are made to be broken aren't they?!!!

Abby gets more adorable every day :)

Oh by the way, I thought the same thing about long naps leading to a sleepless night but it actually works the opposite with children. My pediatrician told me that sleep leads to sleep.

I'm glad you had some shot eye!

We co-sleep b/c when t started climbing out of the crib at 13 mo., she got a big girl bed and therefor had the run of the house. She'd run into my room. You'd be surprised how many families do it, and not just us single gals.

My married friend who ended up cosleeping until their daughter was about 4.5 against their wishes, said that when they mentioned it, lots and lots of other parents confessed to doing it as well like it was some dirty little secret. Well, I say who cares. We all do what works, and it seems co sleeping seems to work.

I admit though, that T is such a bed hog that I often sneak into her room to sleep in the middle of the night!

I bring Elizabeth to bed with me when she wakes up in the night, and I love snuggling with her, and she sleeps great with me, but I always feel like "uh oh, am I "spoiling" her??" But with all the attachment stuff I've read about adopted children, I can always justify it!! :)

Yep, Eliza sleeps with me too. Funny thing is it took us a while to get used to sleeping in the same bed. Now I think we both sleep better.
