Were Still Here

Long time no post! Time is running away so fast that it has been over a week since I last posted. We are fine just busy. I am sure that you all heard about the Tornados that hit our area last week. They (I think the weather channel said their were 8 or 9 total) hit all around us but not actually in York County where we live thank goodness! Our Friends Jen and Jainy live in Suffolk very close to ground zero where one of them hit. Literally the next neighborhood over from them sustained severe and catastrophic damage. Their neighbor hood was spared and despite some very scary moments they are okay. Thank God! The Tornado above was an F3 and the picture was taken from a car dealership right down the road from them. Scary Stuff! If you pray then please send some prayers out for those poor people that were hit. We rode through the town of Driver this week when we met over at Jen and Jainy's to go to the park. The devastation is just unbelievable!

We are still going back and fourth between here and my Mom's. We continue to wait for a daycare spot. They actually called Tuesday and offered us a spot but it had to be a consistent Monday, Tuesday Wednesday spot. That will not work for us since I am required to work 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays a schedule besides every other weekend. The house hopping is killing me as are my job hours. When you work in the ICU you just never know 100 percent that you will get out on time. Your patients can and do crash at anytime. The stress of worrying about will I get out on time is really getting to me too. I love my job and where I work but I can't live with that uncertainty so I am looking for a position with better hours. Abby is my number one priority and I have to do whats best for us. She is doing awesome. She remains very happy at my Mom's. I love having her there too I just wish it was possible for us to go home every night and wake up in our own beds.

Yesterday was our 4 month anniversary as a family. It seems like it has been longer. She has fit so perfectly into my life. My life is so much brighter too with her in it. She is changing so fast and really a full fledged toddler now. She is doing so many new things. She is a jumping bean. She pretty much hops every chance she gets. It is so cute to watch. She is talking a ton too even tho I can't always tell what she is saying. She did say her first 2 word sentence the other day. She yelled "Ma Shoe" when I looked, one of her shoes had fallen off. She sleeps well, eats well and is just such a happy little girl. She is growing like a weed. Mom put her on the scale the other day and she weighed 22 pounds. I can tell that she is getting taller. She is now getting into some of her 12 to 18 month outfits and has moved up a shoe size to a 5 in some shoe styles. She still wears size 3 diapers tho. Her hair is getting longer too and she now wants a bow in it all the time. She also likes to look at herself in the mirror. After I dress her and fix her hair she always goes up to the mirror and asked to be held up so she can check her self out. She is the light of my life :) We celebrated our 4 month family day by going to the park with Jen and Jainy. Abby's favorite thing in the world to do right now is swing and that was her main agenda for the day :) Enjoy the pictures :)

As soon as we got to the park she headed straight for the swings :)

She only stopped to sign swing. As if we didn't know what she wanted.

Very intent on accomplishing her mission to reach the swings!

Yay! I'm swinging!!!!

Pure Bliss!!!

Swinging and my buddy Jainy! There is nothing better :)

Reluctantly she stopped swinging long enough for lunch.

Then she was right back a swinging again :)

Happy happy! Joy Joy!

We had a great day as always with Jen and Jain! They leave for Alaska in 3 weeks (SNIFF!)
Once we got home Abby decided to show Mama her newest trick. Yep she climbed up on the coffee table. Little stinker :)
Somebody asked what kind of stroller we use. It is a Cosmo Combi. The only one that would fit in my VW new Beetle trunk

stay tuned for some catch up posts soon :)

Sorry you're having such a hard time getting a day care spot. It must be exhausting for you to run around as you are doing, and I hope you get something soon.

Abby looks beautiful - and so happy on the swings. Have a wonderful first Mother's Day!

Glad you guys are OK. We too have been smacked with lots of tornadoes around the state. One did hit our town in April but luckily not anywhere near where we live. However, it still was not fun waking a 4 yr old child to drag him to the closet at 10:30 pm. I can't wait to move back where I have a basement.

That girl just loves her swings doesn't she??? Too cute!

Enjoy your 1st Mother's Day. I'm sure you're loving every minute of it.
