Hot, Hot, Hot

Thought I would post our Adoption Announcement. We used Purple Stork. They were a pleasure to work with and very reasonable. I really like the way they turned out. Believe it or not I just finally finished the last of my thank you notes and adoption announcements this week. I know I suck but I can promise you that they were on my mind every day!!! Time was and still is limited due to this new little person in my life :) :) If I missed anybody please let me know.

It is Hot Hot and Hot this week. The temp has been above 92 most of this week and tomorrow they are forecasting a high of 101! I do not do hot weather well. I'm much more of a winter gal. I'm so glad we were in China in November. I have seen the posts of people there in summer and know that I would have been miserable. Well not totally cuz I would have has Abby but..... I think it was much easier to have no luggage in the winter verses the summer too. Abby and I are just laying low today. I may take her to my pool this evening. It was just too hot for her out there today. My ac is on it's last leg too. I have it set on 60 and it reads 75. They are looking for a new coil for me but due to the age of my unit I may well have to get a new one (ouch).

Love the adoption announcement. It's beautiful.

I'm on the hot, hot, hot bandwagon as well. However my house is not even 3 yrs old and I would be very unhappy if my AC unit wasn't working properly. It's sad that when I go out in the evening and the temps are still in the upper 80's and think that it's nice out.

just catching up on the blog and we loved the birth announcement, I forgot my datebook today or I would have shown it off to everyone. yOU KNOW i AM A STICKLER FOR HOLDING BOUNDARIES WITH CHILDREN, PARTLY FROM BEING A MOM, A PRESCHOOL TERACHER, A PARENT ED TEACHER, AND AS A THERAPIST FROM WORKING WITH TOO MANY OVER INDULGED CHILDREN. a FIMR NO IS A VERY HEALTHY WORD TO SAY AND LEARN. GOOD FOR YOU FOR NOT GIVING IN TO CRCODILE TEARS. I REMEMBER YOUR GRANDMA L. WOULD TAKE SOMETHING AWAY FROM YOU IF YOU THROUGH IT ON THE FLOOR THREE TIMES. IT TAKES AWHILE TO FIGURE OUT THE RIGHT RHYTHM, FOR kATIE, IT WAS HOLDING HER FIRMLY AND SPEAKING SOFTLY THROUGH A TANTRUMN AND FOR MY FRIEND'S SON IT WAS CLEARING THE AREA OF ANYTHING THEY COULD THROUGH AND LETTING HIM RIP.
AS SHE GETS OLDER AND YOU START TIMEOUTS, A MINUTE PER YEAR, REMEMBER THE TIME OUT DOES NOT BEGIN UNTIL THE FUSSING STOPS. A TIMER IS AN ESSENTIAL PARENTING ITEM.
i AM GLAD YOU ARE HOLDING HER AND LETTING HER HAVE A BOTTLE, YOU ARE MAKING UP FOR LOST TIME. SHE DOESN'T NEED TO WALK AROUND WITH A BOTTLE, THOSE ARE IMPORTANT NURTURING TIMES WITH HER. GIVING IN TO TANTRUMS AND BUYING HER SOMETHING JUST BECAUSE SHE WANTS IT ARE NOT NURTURING THEY ARE MONSTER MAKING LOVE,"OL."

Isn't it GORGEOUS?! It's been around town in my purse where it's been shown with love and pride and now the announcement resides on my fridge. Reminds me dreams come true. =)
And yes, it's been horribly hot...
