Oh what a Mess!

My babies room is a mess! A while back I painted one of the dressers from my room for Abby's room. You can see it in the picture. It used to be cherry but i painted it white and changed the drawer handles to these cute knobs that I found at Target. Well now all of those drawers are packed and I still have a lot more to place. Her closet is a wreck and I can't begin to organize it until I put away all of her non hanging stuff first.

If your still with me on this oh so exciting post, I decided to move my other dresser into her room. So I'm painting it tonight. Now my stuff is stacked in my closet but my girl needs the dresser more then me. She definitely has more clothes then me.

I had planned on getting new bedroom furniture anyways. the dressers belonged to My Nanny. I think she would like the idea of her dressers being in Abby's room.

By the way my shelf is still hanging!

Six more drawers for Abby's stuff! I'm so excited :) Once all of her clothes and accessories are put away then I will finish her closet. Then with the exception of a few little things her room will be done. Now I have to convince Quackers that this is really not her room....

Signs that my Niece made for Abby's door. Did I mention that it is currently 80 degrees in my house right now? My thermostat is set on 65. The air con people are coming tomorrow. Fingers crossed that I only need Freon.

Definitely crossing fingers that you only need freon!

Abby's room is coming along so cute. I remember when you put that shelf up :0)

Quackers will always claim domain over the room. Give up ;0) I finally did with Jake. I figure someone may as well enjoy the crib for now.

WOW.. Abby's room is awesome and she will be so decked out. You sure are keeping busy.

I too am crossing my fingers that the air con man/person only needs to provide more freon.

Blessings!

This is one of the hazards of this LONG wait ~ all the retail therapy that is involved. :)

Abby's room is great. I want one of the Great Wall photos that you have. I just love that picture.

I hope the air-conditioner just needs a tune up. That is all we needed a few weeks ago, I was so relieved.

Speaking from experience, you may want to do yourself a favor now while you are organizing and sort by SIZE. That way once Abby comes you can pack away all the larger sizes in a larger rubbermaid somewhere else. You will buy more stuff when she comes and you will not want all the larger sizes mixed in with the current size she will be wearing. I did not do that and have found getting her stuff organized quite challenging. Good luck!

You are DEFINATELY a girl after my own heart. I love how your re-did the dresser!!! It looks awesome!!!!

Giorgi has more close than I do too and she's not even home yet and there are still too many shopping days left! AHHHH! (but having lots of fun shopping for her)

I just read Julie's post and I have heard that from lots of moms. (storing by size) I took their advice...

In clear container too. It forces me to fold everything neatly instead of just dumping it into the solid color ones. Good Luck.

Sorting by size/season is a great idea. Use the Space Bags. They are clear, suck the air out with your vacuum. They take up 1/4 the space of rubbermaid bins.

I need to stop going to blogger world and get on with my own sorting here. :-)

Girl, you have got some great stuff for little Abby! I love her room, messy or not.

Love the door hangings, so precious.

And I pray you only need Freon. That happened to me last summer and I needed new coils. Can you say "Hey, let's spend a grand today!"- so fingers crossed for you!!

You poor thing...it is sooooo hot and humid here! (Way too hot to paint a dresser!) Abby's room is really coming along despite the tornado of clothes. =) Love the door hangings.

Looks like you have been doing lots of retail therapy! Isn't it fun?!?!?! Sophie has more clothes than I do for sure! It is so much fun shopping for little girls, isn't it? She too had a full closet before we even had a referral, so don't feel bad!

I could not agree more with those people that mentioned sizing. We even have those size rings to hang on the hanging bar. You can buy them at Babies R Us.....great organizing tool! Looks like the room is coming together great!!

Good luck with the a/c tomorrow!!!

First of all, 80 degrees? I'd be taking long drives in my car to soak up the air conditioning! The dressers are so cute! I need to get Eliza a dresser since I rarely use her changing table.

Yes, Julie speaks the truth. I organized Eliza's stuff by size before I went to China...very helpful!

Cute nursery and oh man can I relate! So much stuff for baby! Glad you were able to find another dresser to hold all of little Abby's goodies! This wait has made me the queen of storage containers. Of to buy 3 more this weekend!

Have fun! Looking forward to seeing the dresser when it's all finished.

Looks like the amount of stuff Mia has already (and we still have at least another 9 months to buy stuff!!!). We will never have to do laundry!!! My luck she will have ONE outfit she loves and not want to wear anything else! LOL

Oh god - retail therapy...it adds up doesn't it?? Hannah has WAY more clothes than I do - and I believe too many for her to ever wear. A 2 year wait will do that to ya. Love the room!

LOL I am so glad someone's nursery looks like mine!

Seeing all that stuff in the room made me smile! Who cares if it's a mess - it's your DAUGHTERS stuff in there :) THAT is what made me smile!
