This and that

Today I Emailed my agency to see if they thought I had any chance at all to get my referral next month. The response was probably? No news flash there. I know it is possible but I'm not holding my breath. They would have to do 7 days next time and they haven't done that many days in a while. I also asked them about when my travel might be assuming that I did in fact receive my referral next month. They said probably I will travel in January. So guess that means no Abby for Christmas this year. Bummer! And also a bummer that It is my turn to work Christmas day at work this year. Yuck! I always spend Christmas eve with my niece and nephew and wake up with them Christmas day for presents. Then we go to my Moms. This year I was really hoping to be able to do that with Abby because I would have been out on family leave. Not gonna happen though so It will be a sad Christmas this year for me. Moving on.

This is Cassie. (Her eyes are actually green ) She is my other baby and doesn't get as much blog time cause she spends most of her time hiding in my bedroom. She is such a sweet heart but scared to death of Quackers. Quackers knows this and takes full advantage. It is really sad. Quackers loves to play but doesn't want to with Cassie. I gotta get these two together before Abby gets here. I have had them for almost 7 years. I have never had cats that were not able to work it out before. Any suggestions???????
I also finished my kitchen. I painted it red. It looks awesome. I changed the gold knobs on the cabinets for stainless ones. Now if I could only afford to change all of my appliances over to stainless ones. Ha!

Sorry about the glare. Pay no attention to the crap left on my kitchen table.

Last but definitely not least! Thanks Icon for including me in your wellness campaign. I am way over due so thank you for the reminder :)

Sorry Abby won't be home for Christmas this year but what a treat it will be to think that you'll be within weeks of travelling to meet her! Hmmmm...maybe Christmas #2 in January?

Next year she'll be home for sure Mommy and hopefully since you're working this year you'll be able to spend next with her and introduce her to all your fun traditions.

((hugs)) about Christmas. As someone who's mom spent Christmas day in the hospital a few years back I am SO THANKFUL for those who work that day. Until then I took them for granted and now I don't so if it's even a little help...thank you!

Okay, even if (God forbid) you don't get your referral this coming month, you will get it in December. So, by Christmas you will be on Cloud 9. Showing everybody your sweet baby's picture. You'll be counting down the few days remaining until you board the plane for China. You will be high as a kite! Then, when MIss Abby is placed into your loving arms, it will feel like Christmas everyday for a long, long time.

As for your kitchen, I love the red paint. It's very pretty. Nice job!

:-)

It's looking pretty snazzy over at your place! When's the cocktail par-tay? ;)

I absolutely LOVE the red!!! It looks so good! :o)

I'm glad to see other people liking red too! My nursery is red :)

For the kitties, I grab them by the scruff and rub them together. They hate it. But it gets the other's scent on the other. You keep doing it until they stop fighting you lol

I think you'll get a referral with me on Nov 1 :)

Welcome, sweets.

Good luck with the kitties. After that many years they're probably more set in their ways than a 90 year old man ;0)

At least we know this will be your last Christmas without your girl!

Love it as well, glad you are staying busy

I can say with conviction that one week after Abby comes home you will be so glad you don't have stainless steel fronts on your appliances. xo Mom

Well, we know one thing... it's your LAST Christmas without Abby, and that is such an amazing thing. I'll be a whole 18 months LID by next Christmas. Maybe halfway there!

Your Kitchen looks GREAT! I think ours is about the same size. I LOVE, though, how you can be at the sink and look into the other room. I LOVE THAT! When I'm at my sink I can't see anything that goes on in the next room. Better make sure my hearing is in check! ha. ha.

I absolutely agree with Joannah's post. I could not have said it better. Since I have been through this experience I can say you WILL be over the moon when you receive your referral. It is pure joy, pure happiness and everyday will feel like Christmas! You are in the hurry up and wait stage but once you have the referral and your travel dates, you will feel like you have a million things to do. The time will fly! So I say go to work Christmas day knowing you are the happiest person in that hospital. You are a Mommy and you have a picture of your sweet Abby.
XOXO

Love the red and gold. Very similar to my lower level, which I love.

I'm still thinking you'll receive Abby's referral in November. Come on CCAA, give us all a break!
