Sorry and Goodbye China

Our last night in China.......... First off I am sorry for not posting more! I promise to make up for it once we are home! This has been an amazing but exhausting trip! Hard work as a single but I am not complaining cause she is so worth it!!!! :) I look at these first pictures and see just how far she has come. She went from a little scared baby to a mighty spicy toddler in just the 2 short weeks I have known her. It has been so much fun to watch her come into her own. Still counting my blessings and wondering how I got so lucky!!! OMG I love this little girl! I still tear up at times, especially when I see her first pictures of gotcha day and think of all that she has been through in her short little life. Such a resilient little one she is.

I also was so very lucky to travel with M and K! They are truly wonderful people and I so enjoyed hanging out with them. Abby 1 and Abby two were from the same province SWI and also shared a nanny. What a special bond these two have and they have been so sweet together we just hate to break them up. We will keep in touch for sure! Right guys??

Meema and Da had an amazing time! Abby already has them both wrapped around her finger! I am so glad they were able to come along for this journey of a life time. Love you guys!!

So sweet and pretty! I can't wait to introduce her to the rest of her family!

Red Couch Mayhem! It's a tradition to get a picture of all of the kids on the red couch at the White Swan hotel.

As you can see our group was made up of several ages! Every child was wonderful and just blossomed :) We had a fun group too!

This picture shows what it is all about :) Despite still no luggage for the entire trip I made it. I am leaving with two purchased suitcases and a carry on. Retail therapy is the best! I may have to burn my 2 outfits once I get home tho. Either that or write a book about "The traveling Purple Shirt" It's now 2: 32 am. We have to have our luggage out by the door at 550 AM. I will post from the flip side! Thank you China for the amazing gift that you have given me.....

She ie sooooo cute!!! Man I admire you that you survived two weeks in China without your luggage!!! AND you did not rant and complain here on the blog about it.

Take it from me, (I work for an airline) insist the airlines give you something like 2 free airline tickets or value of two.

Can't wait for more psot at home with Abby.

The picture of Abby alone on the Red Couch is amazing. Not only is she beautiful, but just look at that smile! That smile started in her toes and worked itself out through her eyeballs! THAT is what having a Mommy who adores you can do for a child.

I'm smiling through my tears for you Jenny. And oh, so happy that Abby is coming to America to live forever.

Luggage, schmuggage. You did it. Abby didn't need much, she just needed a mom!

You have a beautiful girl there. No doubt about that.

Have a safe trip home. And kudos to you for surviving China with no luggage! I guess I'll no longer stress over packing lists since you made it with nothing! LOL!

Jenny,
This post has captured the absolute beauty of life. To see the difference in you and Abby after a short 2 weeks is what life as a mother is all about. To quote a phrase from a Carrie Underwood song "when you figure out love is all that matters after all, it sure makes everything else seem so small" Including lost luggage!!! I know you have only begun to show her what love can do. Both of your lives have been forever changed. Thanks for sharing a piece of it with us. We love being part of your journey, and are so proud of you. Can't wait to meet her and see you both together.
Safe travels
Ellen

Can't wait to say WELCOME HOME....

and... you are now the QUEEN of travel. You have proved without a doubt that there is nothing so important that you can't do without. I'm rethinking the whole carry-on only concept after your 'rock-star' ability to adapt... you are amazing!!! and I agree with everyone.. get everything you can out of them for the inconvenience!!!

Have a safe trip home....

Her smile melts my heart. Actually both of your smiles! You were born to be her Mommy and she was born to be your daughter!

Just amazing - everything. She is so adorable and looks so happy now in her red China outfit with tutu! And you are the trooper extrordinaire! I'm not sure I could have done that but I have learned from you to put a few things in my carry-on. Thank you and thank you for sharing your little muffin with us. May you have beautiful lives together. Hugs, Dale

And those dimples!!!

Your comment about looking at her and it brings tears to your eyes made me cry!!
Here I am 4:30 a.m. (at work) reading your post and tearing up.
Then I couldn't help but laugh at your comment about the purple shirt.
I do admire you for surviving without luggage. That is tough.
Have a safe trip. Looking forward to seeing pics of Abby...finally Home!
